How to Get
Started:
- First, carefully measure the lawn area you
want to convert
- Then go to the EBMUD webpage for
ÒWaterSmart Residential Lawn ConversionÓ (http://www.ebmud.com/for-customers/for-residential-customers/conservation-rebates-and-incentives/watersmart-residential-l)
- Fill out and submit the Lawn Conversion
Application, found at the bottom of the page
- EBMUD will call to schedule an appointment
for a pre-conversion inspection
- Once the project is completed, notify EBMUD
within six months of the first inspection and schedule a post-inspection
site visit
The rebate will be issued
as credit to your EBMUD water account
The Rebate:
- East Bay MUD is offering $.50 per square foot
of land that is converted from lawn to sustainable garden (or $.25/sq ft
for just removing lawn) for up to $500
- The minimum square footage to be eligible for
the rebate is 250 sq ft
- The rebate is good for applications received
before June 30, 2012
