FAQs for Youth

Q. I want a summer job. How do I get one?

A.  Find the location that is closest to you, and contact the person who works with young adults in your school situation (whether you are in school or out of school).

Q. Is this open to anyone who wants a job?

A. This is open to young adults between the ages of 14 and 24 years old.  You must meet the qualifications for the program, which can be viewed on MySpace at Youth at Work Qualifications

Q. How do I know if I qualify?

A. See the chart on MySpace to see where you fall in our eligibility requirements. Still have questions? Call us.

Q. If I am on summer break from school does that mean I am out of school?

A. No. The term "out-of-school" means that you are not in school at all, whether you graduated or dropped out. If you are on summer break from school, you are still "in-school."

Q. Does someone find a job for me?

A. Sort of. Once you qualify for the program, we will find out what you do best, and what you are interested in and try to match you to a job you would like. But you still have to interview for the job!

Q. What if I can't get in this program? Will I still get help?

A. Yes. We will give you information so that you can look for jobs on your own.

Q. How much money will I make?

A. Wages for summer jobs are $8.25 per hour. If you are placed in a job, you will work up to approximately 120 over the course of the summer.
